Font Research

I was thinking of using either of these texts for the Masthead because they're bold and would stand out off the page. I think that the text would connotate that the magazine is bold and gives a good image and would therefore persuade people to purchase the magazine. I think it would signify the genre of the magazine as well because it is edgy and so is the rock, alternative industry. The genre in which I chose appears to have attitude of being loud and if I used this as my masthead then it would show the reality of it all and it would catch peoples eyes. This is 'Devil Breeze Bold' or 'Slant' and they're well suited for the front cover of a rock magazine in my opinion.

I was thinking of using this text on the contents page because I think it would go well with the genre of magazine mainly because it has razored bits out of the text and it is showing edge and attitude. I think it would go well on the contents page for main titles, or category titles because it would stand off the page in comparison to the rest, therefore showing the importance of the text. This is the 'Karabine' text and I think it would be well suited to my magazine genre and audience.
I was intending on using this as other main titles in which are on the front page such as the main sell lines, banners, and maybe skyline/puffs. I think it is well suited to a rock magazine because it is bold and shows the articles will also have a bold point and what you see is what you get. This is the 'Beckasin text' and I think it is well suited to front cover text.

I was thinking of using this text for the different articles on the contents page, and perhaps as text on banners etc. I chose this because it is clear and looks edgy so it would be well suited to the music genre in which I had chose. This is the 'WIREDsaji' text and I think it is well suited for either a contents page, double page spread, or a front page.
